Modeling continuous shape change for facial animation

چکیده

The movement of landmarks on the human face can be recorded in 3D using motion capture equipment. We describe methods for the analysis of data collected on groups of subjects with a view to describing and assessing the differences between the facial motions of those groups. We focus on the smile motion in particular. The methods presented can be used more generally for continuous shape change data. We introduce a novel parameterization of shape change that allows the parsimonious description of facial motion. We allow for a distinction between static facial shape and dynamic facial motion. We describe statistical methods for modeling differences in facial motion including a comparison of mean motions, principal components for describing the variation in motion and linear models for describing the effects of predictors.

Visemeaware Realistic 3d Face Modeling from Range Images

In this paper, we propose an example based realistic face modeling method with viseme control. The viseme describes the particular facial and oral positions and movements that occur alongside the voicing of phonemes. In facial animation such as speech animation and talking head, etc, a face model with open mouth is often used and the model is animated along with the speech sound by synchronizin...

Towards Realistic Facial Modeling and Re-Rendering of Human Skin Aging Animation

Facial aging simulation and animation are aspiring goals and challenging tasks because the growth and aging processes are greatly influence the facial shape and its structure. The face structure, the size of the bones, and the skin texture change, the skin fattens or sags, wrinkles appear and even muscular activities change in terms of intensity. This paper proposes a novel facial animation alg...

Personalized Multi-View Face Animation with Lifelike Textures

Realistic personalized face animation mainly depends on a picture-perfect appearance and natural head rotation. This paper describes a face model for generation of novel view facial textures with various realistic expressions and poses. The model is achieved from corpora of a talking person using machine learning techniques. In face modeling, the facial texture variation is expressed by a multi...

Realistic Speech Animation of Synthetic Faces

In this study, we combined physically-based modeling and parameterization to generate realistic speech animation on synthetic faces. We used physically-based modeling for muscles. Muscles are modeled as forces deforming the mesh of polygons. Parameterization technique is used for generating mouth shapes for speech animation. Each meaningful part of a text, which is a letter in our case,correspon...

Robust Parameterized Component Analysis Theory and Applications to 2D Facial Modeling

Principal Component Analysis (PCA) has been successfully applied to construct linear models of shape, graylevel, and motion. In particular, PCA has been widely used to model the variation in the appearance of people’s faces. We extend previous work on facial modeling for tracking faces in video sequences as they undergo significant changes due to facial expressions. Here we develop person-speci...
